Women’s Futsal Playoffs to Begin Sunday Evening

[August 4, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – Hyundai finished the 2016 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League regular season unscathed with a 5-0 record and hold onto the No. 1 position moving into league playoffs, scheduled to begin Sunday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center futsal courts.

Hyundai continued its winning streak in Week 5, edging the Isla Paint and Roofing Supply Lady Strykers 6-4. Hyundai was led by Demi-Rae Shimizu and Erica Quichocho, both finishing with two goals in the contest. Arisa Recella and Roze San Nicolas also scored in Hyundai’s win. Alexy Dacanay led the Lady Strykers with two goals and teammates Christina Duenas and Koharu Minato also scored.

Hyundai will face No. 4 Quality Distributors in the first round of playoffs Sunday at 7 p.m. In Week 5 play, Quality’s Paige Surber finished with a hat trick, helping the team defeat Southern Heat 5-1. April Talledo and Jodie Barnhouse also scored in Quality’s win. Hannah Tyquiengco scored the Heat’s lone goal.

The Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers (4-1) secured the league’s No. 2 position moving into playoffs after a forfeit victory over the Lady Rovers.

The Lady Crushers will next play the No. 3 Lady Strykers (3-2) Sunday at 6 p.m.

The Lady Crushers’ Anjelica Perez and Skyylerblu Johnson finished tied on top of the Golden Boot race. The teammates each scored 12 goals during regular season matches. Dacanay finished the Golden Boot race in third with nine goals scored.
