29 Nov Women’s All-stars Play Training Match Vs Japan Pro Team
[January 21, 2017 – Harmon, Guam] – Selected players from the Bud Light Women’s Soccer League sized up against visiting professional team, Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara, from Japan, in an exhibition match played Friday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
The visiting team from Japan, 11-0 winners in the match, recently won Division 2 of the Plenus Nadeshiko League and will enter the top flight of women’s club soccer in the country this upcoming season. In order to prepare for their maiden season in the Japan’s top women’s flight, the team players and coaching staff held a training camp in Guam, which included the exhibition match against the Bud Light Women’s Soccer League All-Stars.
The pro team featured Yoko Tanaka, Japan’s top scorer in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, who scored six in the country’s bronze finish in 2012. A handful of other players are also featured on Japan’s current U20 women’s national team, U23 women’s national team, as well as the Nadeshiko, the Japan women’s national team, former champions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
