Wings U14 Win PK Shootout Vs Tigers for Championship

[November 12, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – The Wings FC’s U14 team edged the Tigers 5-4 in a penalty kick shootout after the teams were deadlocked at 1-all in regulation time of the championship match of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League U14 division final played Nov. 5 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In regulation time, the Wings’ Matthew Iseke and Tigers’ Kainoa Ferguson scored their respective teams’ goals to force the penalty kick shootout.

Following the championship match, the Wings accepted the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Tigers settled for a silver-medal finish.

Recognized in the awards ceremony were Marcus Del Rosario of the Wings, who was voted as the championship match MVP and the division’s Golden Glove winner as a goalkeeper. Additionally, the Wings Eddie Cho and the Tigers’ James Lee were recognized as co-Golden Boot winners. The Guam Shipyard Wolverines were awarded the division’s Fair Play award.
