Wings Red Top Strykers to Capture U12 Spring 2016 Title

[May 11, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – Wings Red added the U12 division championship title of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League to its arsenal of youth soccer accolades after defeating the W.M. Engineering Strykers in the division final May 8 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Wings Red defeated the No. 4 Guam Shipyard Wolverines in the semifinals of the playoffs in the morning to punch its ticket to the finale, scheduled a few hours later in the afternoon. The No. 3 Strykers toppled the No. 2 ASC Trust Islanders in the semifinals to earn a spot against the division’s top team for the title.

In the consolation match, the Islanders defeated the Wolverines to lock in third place for the season.

Wings Red and the Islanders were the lone teams to score over 100 goals in the 11-week regular season, scoring 125 and 113, respectively. Wings Red had the upper hand defensively, allowing only seven goals for the season compared to the Islanders’ 14 goals.
