U17 Play Heats Up in Third Week of Triple J Youth League

[March 1, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – The W.M. Engineering Strykers FC and Wings Red remain as the lone undefeated teams in the U17 Competitive Division through Week 3 of the 2016 Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League Spring season.

The Strykers picked up its third win in as many weeks edging Wings Black 2-1 Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center with goals from Xavier Naputi and Matt Deloso. Kyle Halehale scored Wings Black’s lone goal.

Wings Red defeated the Tigers with goals from Jordan Jamsin, Kanta Terai, Takumi Ito, Derek Okuhama, Takumi Odell, Lars Peterson, and Inochi Recella. Seung Min Kim scored the Tigers’ lone goal.

In other U17 matches, 2015 Fall season finalists Southern Cobras edged the ASC Trust Islanders Betde 3-2. Seth Surber scored a first-half hat trick in the win. Noah Duenas and Aaron Roque scored for the Islanders.

Quality Distributors defeated Tumon Typhoons Soccer Club with goals from Daniel Kim, Jason Kim, Eric Kim, and Eddie Huang.

Community First/Days Inn Dededo Soccer Club battled to a scoreless draw with the Guam Shipyard Wolverines.

In U14 matches, Wings defeated Tsunami Sharknado with goals from Matthew Iseke, Taiga Simon, Eddie Cho, Mark Iseke, Tayler Bonner, Kainoa Ferguson, Hayden Shedd, Sho Meyar, Andrew Kilgore, Connor Chadwick, Satoshi Oshita, and Joshua Miller.

Tumon defeated Quality 4-1 with a hat trick from KK Kaminanga and one goal from Shin Kuranami. Kaeden Canovas scored Quality’s lone goal.

Islanders Betde defeated the Strykers 6-1 with two goals each from Juan Sarmiento and Jonathan Sevilla and one each from Russell Anicas and Joshua Bamba. Laylani Salinas scored for the Strykers.

Tigers defeated Dededo 3-1 with two goals from James Lee and one from Kris Fernandez. Yuuki Kubo scored for Dededo.

Wolverines defeated Southern Cobras 2-0 with goals from Ryan Lee and Shaun Paul Martinez.

In U12 Competitive Division matches, Wolverines defeated Tsunami 2-0 with goals from Alfred Leon Guerrero and Nathan Toves.

Islanders Asut defeated Wings Black 4-2 with goals from Zachary Diaz, Gavin Barcinas, Arthur Manglona, and Sophie San Agustin. Kosuke Ishii and Shane Shedd scored for Wings Black.

Islanders Betde defeated Sidekick SC 9-1, Dededo defeated Orange Crushers 6-4, Wings Red won over Southern Cobras and the Strykers defeated Tumon 8-1.

The youth league takes a weeklong break to make way for the 9th Annual Girls Middle School Sugar and Spice Soccer Festival, scheduled for Mar. 5. The Sugar and Spice event, supported in large part by Japan Football Association, will feature 12 teams from both the GDOE Interscholastic Middle School Girls Soccer League and IIAAG Middle School Girls Soccer League.
