03 Feb Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Spring 2025 season to kick off Feb. 22
[February 3, 2025 – Harmon, Guam] Like many youth players, 12-year-old Caden Ando started playing football in the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League because a friend recruited him to try the sport and the rest is history.
“I started playing soccer because my friend actually pulled me into playing,” said Ando, who will suit up for one of the NAPA Rovers FC U13 teams in the youth league. “I look forward to the games in the league starting up soon because we can see how we’re doing and what we need to practice on for the next games.
“It would be good to get more players in the league. I would tell my friends that soccer is really a fun sport, and even if they don’t really have an interest at first, I would just tell them to try it out and see how it goes,” added Ando, who also said he dreams to play football professionally in the future.
The 2025 Spring season of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League is set to kick off Feb. 22 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center with five different age groups: U6, U8, U10, U13, and U16 Boys. “Soccer is a great sport for all kids and even kids who never played any sport before,” said Andy Ursua, one of NAPA Rovers FC U13 coaches who organized a training session for Ando and his teammates at a recent club practice day at St. John’s School. “The sport teaches basic movements for any sport, like running, coordination, and control. The sport also teaches many things like teamwork, discipline and also helps in personal development. The kids who train in outside leagues, we see many of them succeed in school also. The young players are constantly learning to be better on the field and also with anything else they want to achieve outside of the sport.”
