The Venue Slay Captures Spring 2018 W2 Championship

[June 11, 2018 – Harmon, Guam] The Venue Slay capped its undefeated season in the W2 Division of the Bud Light Women’s Soccer League with the Spring 2018 championship title, defeated The Venue Sidekicks 1-0 in the league final Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Venue Slay banked on an own goal by The Venue Sidekicks in the 15th minute off a corner kick play for the championship, as both teams’ defenses fortified for the remainder of the match.

In the short awards ceremony following the championship match, The Venue Slay’s Brianna Benito honored with the Spring 2018 Golden Boot award, earned by scoring 16 goals in six matches for the season. Teammate Tamera Shimizu picked up Golden Glove and Championship Match MVP honors.

Ambros Marketing Manager Jojo Camacho and GFA Executive Committee Member Gian Tenorio also presented medals to the finalists, as well as the champions trophy to The Venue Slay and the second-place trophy to The Venue Sidekicks.
