28 Aug Sixteen earn total of $14,000 in scholarships from GFA donors
[August 28, 2024 – Harmon, Guam] Sixteen applicants were awarded with a total of $14,000 from Guam Football Association’s Scholarship Program in a presentation ceremony held Wednesday evening at the GFA National Training Center Lecture Hall.
“On behalf of Guam Football Association, I would like to congratulate the awardees of the 2024 scholarship funds for not only their success on the pitch but also in the classroom,” said Joe Cepeda, GFA General Secretary. “As a community, we see that football development not only drives sporting success, but also motivates the student-athletes to succeed in all areas of their lives, whether on or off the pitch.
“I commend all of the awardees, as well as all others who applied for scholarship funds in their commitment to higher education. I also would like to thank all the scholarship fund donors, as their generosity will further enhance community development through the support of our young adults,” Cepeda added.
Eligible candidates were either Class of 2024 high school graduates entering college programs or current college students finishing credits to graduate.
