Shipyard vs Strykers in 2021 Bud Light Women’s Futsal Final

[August 24, 2021 – Harmon, Guam] No. 1 Guam Shipyard Women’s will take on No. 2 Bank of Guam Lady Strykers in the championship match of the Bud Light Women’s Futsal League Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex Gym, set to kick off at 4 p.m.

Guam Shipyard Women avenged its lone loss in the regular season with a 4-1 victory in one of two semifinal matches played Aug. 22. Hannah Cruz, Arisa Recella, Brianne Leon Guerrero, and Paige Surber each scored one goal for Shipyard. Ariya Cruz scored the Sidekick SC’s lone goal.

In the day’s other semifinal match, the Bank of Guam Lady Strykers narrowly defeated Quality Distributors 3-2. Olivia Haddock and Richelle Ragadio scored for the winning team. The Lady Strykers’ other goal came on a Quality own goal. Caylani Estoy scored both goals for Quality.

The Sidekick SC and Quality Distributors will first play for third place in the league at 3 p.m. followed by the championship match between Guam Shipyard Women and Bank of Guam Lady Strykers at 4 p.m.

Following the championship match, the winning team will be presented the Champions trophy. Other trophies to be presented are the Second Place trophy, the Golden Boot trophy, and the Golden Glove trophy.

Quality Distributors swept all individual awards with Caylani Estoy winning the league’s 2021 Golden Boot race and Chyna Ramirez topping the league’s 2021 Golden Glove standings at the end of the regular season.

Estoy scored at least one goal in every Quality match, finishing with 20 goals in seven matches. Estoy’s largest goal haul came in both Week 1 against Team Mosa’s and Week 5 against the Metro Pacific Islanders. In both matches, she finished with a double hat trick. Estoy eclipsed Guam Shipyard Women’s Colleen Naden, a former league Golden Boot winner and this season’s runner-up, in Week 6.

Ramirez conceded the least amount of goals in the maximum minutes played among other team goalkeepers for the top goalkeeper award. In 350 minutes total for the season, Ramirez conceded only 18 goals, an average of only 4.6 goals per match.
