Seventeen goals in return of 2023 Budweiser Soccer Premier Division

[August 14, 2023 – Harmon, Guam] A total of seventeen goals in two matches were featured in the return of the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center following a two-month hiatus after Typhoon Mawar.

Premier Division league leaders Wings FC extended its lead with a 2-1 win over the Islanders FC. Taiyo Kanekatsu and Yvan Tcheugoue scored for the Wings and Noah Duenas scored the Islanders’ lone goal.

No. 2 Bank of Guam Strykers blanked Guam Shipyard 14-0 led by Marcus Lopez’s five goals. Sean Halehale, David Thompson and Ian Dickson each contributed two in the win and teammates Anthony Moon, Shane Healy, and Jason Cunliffe each scored once.

With the results from Week 9 matches, Marcus Lopez and teammate Samuel Stenson are tied at the top of the Golden Boot race with eight goals each for the season.
