
04 Dec Rovers Win Fourth-straight Co-ed Masters Title
The Rovers made it four straight Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League titles following the team’s 7-1 win over the Paintco Strykers in the championship match Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Since the league started, no other team has been able to wrest the Co-Ed Masters trophy from the Rovers. League Golden Boot winner Takefumi Inoue led the Rovers with four goals in the championship match. Ian Lawton scored twice and Cheri Stewart scored the Rovers’ other goal. Susumu Morimoto scored the Strykers’ lone goal off a PK in the 6th minute.
In the earlier consolation match, Big Blue blanked a shorthanded IT&E/IP&E team 11-0. Noel Casilao, Roy Abril, and Rhoda Bamba each scored twice in the win. Yvonne San Nicolas, Josiegen Soquena, Michael Crisostomo, Pepito Bedia, Jr. and Sara Pleadwell scored Big Blue’s other goals.
