16 Dec Quarterfinal Fixtures Set for Jamaican Grill 11th GFA Cup
[June 12, 2018 – Harmon, Guam] – Quarterfinal fixtures are set for the Jamaican Grill 11th Annual GFA Cup following first-round matches played over the weekend at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division champions NAPA Rovers secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a 7-0 shutout of the Bank of Guam Strykers Masters Saturday evening. Captain Mark Chargualaf led all scorers with a hat trick and teammate Fook Liao scored twice. Bryan Cadiz and Gustavo Pro scored the Rovers’ other goals.

The Rovers’ next opponent is Bank of Guam Strykers B, 6-0 winners over the Sidekicks SC. Micah Hennegan led all scorers with a hat trick and Joshua Miller scored twice. Jeremy Copple scored Strykers B’s other goal.

Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division runner-up Lots of Art Heat racked up a 13-1 victory over Shipyard Haya Saturday evening. Gideon Tyquiengco scored four goals to lead all scorers and teammates Keith Surber, Arthur Root, and Cody Maestrecampo scored twice each. Lance Chargualaf, Clifford Tyquiengco, and Tegan Brown also scored for LOA Heat. Scottie Angoco scored Shipyard Haya’s lone goal.

LOA Heat next faces the Islanders FC, 6-0 winners over NAPA Rovers Masters. Devan Mendiola and Joshua Bamba scored twice each in the win and teammates Jordan Jasmin and Michael Crowley also scored.

At the top of the draw, Bank of Guam Strykers I defeated Quality Distributors 7-1. Eddie Huang and Scott Spindel scored twice each and teammates Clayton Mitchell, Mark Iseke, and Aidan Dickson also scored. Justin Cruz scored Quality’s lone goal.

At the bottom of the draw, the University of Guam Tritons advance to the quarterfinals with an 8-1 win over Eurocar FC. Kyle Legozzie scored half of UOG’s goal haul and teammates Shashikant Kotwal, Dylan Naputi, Jacques Diambra-Odi and Joseph Quan also scored. Christian Cortez scored for Eurocar.

Quarterfinal matches of the Jamaican Grill 11th Annual GFA Cup, Guam’s premier men’s soccer tournament, will all be held Saturday, with Gino’s FC taking on Bank of Guam Strykers I at 6 p.m. and NAPA Rovers playing against Bank of Guam Strykers B, also at 6 p.m. Islanders FC will face LOA Heat at 8 p.m. and UOG will play against Bombers SC, also at 8 p.m. All matches will be held at the GFA National Training Center.
