Quality Distributors, Rovers Advance to Playoff Semifinals

[November 28, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – No. 3 Quality Distributors and No. 4 NAPA Rovers earned their spots in the semifinals of the Bud Light Women’s Soccer League playoffs following Round 1 play from Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Quality defeated No. 6 Nutrition Mission Southern Heat 6-0 for a semifinal showdown with No. 2 Hyundai, set to kick off at 7 p.m. Sunday. Against the Heat, Paige Surber led all scorers with a pair of goals and teammates Jodie Nelson, Paris “Mames” Blas, Randi Jo Paulino, and April Talledo also scored in the win.

The two teams finished with a 3-3 draw in their regular-season fixture played on Oct. 16.

The Rovers will take on No. 1 Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers in the other semifinal match after defeating No. 5 Bank of Guam Lady Strykers 2-0. Laura Nadeau and Courtney Salgado each scored once for the Rovers in the Round 1 win.

The Lady Crushers-Rovers semifinal match is set to kick off at 5 p.m. Sunday. The Lady Crushers lead the Rovers in head-to-head competition, notching a 3-0 win in their regular season fixture, played on Oct. 16.

In the league’s Golden Boot race, the Lady Crushers’ Colleen Naden earns her second top-scorer award, after also winning the honor in the Fall 2015 season. Naden scored 13 goals in five matches, six ahead of teammate Skyylerblu Johnson in the Fall 2016 race. In the league’s Golden Glove award standings, the Lady Crushers’ Taisha Palma finished as leader of the pack with zero goals allowed in 220 minutes played.
