14 Nov Payless Supermarkets Strykers Closer to No. 1 With Win
[April 23, 2015 – Harmon Guam] – Goal differential is the only thing keeping the Payless Supermarkets Strykers FC from taking the top spot in the Budweiser Soccer League standings after its 7-0 win over Quality Distributors in a rescheduled match Wednesday evening at the Guam Football Association.
The Strykers FC (14-2-1) now boast the same record as league leaders Rovers FC, but the Rovers hold the edge with a +91 goal differential, compared to the Strykers FC’s +65 goal differential. Both teams are tied in head-to-head competition, with the Strykers FC winning the teams’ most recent fixture 7-0.
The league title will be determined after the two teams’ final fixture Sunday at 7 p.m. The Rovers FC will need at least a draw to win the title for the second-straight season, while the Strykers will need a second-straight win against the current league leaders.
In the Strykers’ match against Quality Distributors Wednesday, Dylan Naputi and Ricky Katsumata led the team with two goal each. Jonahan Romero, Min Choi, and Xavier Naputi also scored in the win.
In the other rescheduled Division I match, the Paradise Fitness Sidekicks picked up a victory over Guam Shipyard via forfeit.
