Mini Masakada win silver in Hong Kong tournament

The Mini Masakada, Guam U14 Girls National Team, claimed a silver finish on the final day of the Woofoo Girl’s International Youth Football Invitational Tournament 2014 in Hong Kong with a 4-0 crushing of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Tiffani Lopez began Guam’s scoring haul in the first half, followed by Yae Kawauchi before the halftime whistle. Caylani Estoy scored twice in the second half for Guam’s final tally.

Guam finished ahead of Hong Kong and the Northern Mariana Islands with one win, one loss and one draw. A club team from China, P.R. finished first with two wins, and one draw (its second win was a 2-0 contest against the host country on the final day of the tournament).

Overall, Guam finished the tournament scoring the most goals out of all competitors, with five in three matches. The club team from China, P.R., scored three in three matches.

EARLIER RESULTS

The Mini Masakada, Guam U14 Girls National Team, was forced to a 1-1 draw with host country Hong Kong in the Wofoo Girl’s International Youth Football Invitational Tournament 2014 on Day 2. Mia San Nicolas scored Guam’s goal off an assist from Chloe Salas.

In the other Day 2 match, the Northern Mariana Islands and the club team from China, P.R. battled to a scoreless draw.

The Mini Masakada, Guam U14 Girls National Team, was edged by a club team from China, P.R. 1-0 during the Wofoo Girl’s International Youth Football Invitational Tournament 2014 in Hong Kong.

In the other opening day match, the Northern Mariana Islands and Hong Kong battled to a 1-1 draw.
