[April 19, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – The top-ranked teams of the 2016 Bud Light Women’s Soccer League Spring season booked their tickets to the league’s championship match, set to kick off 7 p.m. Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

No. 1 Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers will take on the No. 2 Lady Rovers, after the teams defeated the Isla Paint and Roofing Supply Lady Strykers and Hyundai, respectively, in the league’s semifinal fixtures on Apr. 17.

In the early semifinal match, the Lady Crushers held a small 2-1 lead at halftime against the Lady Strykers, but by the 64th minute, it was an even match. Lady Strykers’ Alexy Dacanay beat the Lady Crushers last line of defense and finished a right-footed shot just inside the penalty area for the game-tying goal.

Three minutes later, the Lady Crushers’ Colleen Naden scored the eventual game-winner following up on a blocked shot by teammate Skyylerblu Johnson. Johnson took an early cross from Demi Rose Brennan for a shot on goal that was parried by Lady Strykers goalkeeper Jena Cruz toward Naden for the follow-up opportunity.

The Lady Crushers went on to score three more goals in the 6-2 victory. Simie Willter and Kimberly Sherman both scored two goals each for the winning team. Johnson and Naden scored the Lady Crushers’ other goals. Dacanay scored both goals for the Lady Strykers.

In the late match, the Lady Rovers held a 2-0 advantage moments before the halftime whistle until Hyundai earned a penalty kick opportunity in the 45th minute. Hyundai striker Olivia Flores was taken down in the box by Lady Rovers defender Melissa Elwell, setting up a successful penalty kick taken by Flores’ teammate Arisa Recella.

The Lady Rovers later outscored their opponent 2-0 in the second half for the 4-1 victory. Laura Nadeau scored twice for the Lady Rovers and teammates Brianne Leon Guerrero and Meagan Crisostomo also scored.

The consolation match to determine the league’s third-place team between Hyundai and the Lady Strykers will kick off at 5 p.m. before the championship match.
