Islanders take down Dolphins for Girls Interscholastic Football crown

[May 19, 2024 – Harmon, Guam] No. 1 John F. Kennedy High School Islanders capped their undefeated regular season with the 2024 Champions trophy in Saturday’s Interscholastic Girls High School Football League championship match at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Islanders played a close 2-1 contest over No. 2 Southern High School Dolphins to secure the title. Following the match, GFA Technical Study Group selected JFK’s Cassandra Kido as the match MVP.

Guam High School defeated Harvest Christian Academy 5-1 to claim third place in the league in the day’s consolation match.

Following both matches, a short awards presentation event was held beginning with recognition of the players selected to the All-Island First Team. Each player received a trophy for her selection. The ceremony continued with the presentation of bronze medals to Guam High School.

The Dolphins next received the second-place trophy and silver medals, followed by JFK receiving the champions trophy and gold medals.
