Guam Shipyard Women’s win historic Women’s GFA Cup

[May 24, 2019 – Harmon, Guam] No. 2 Guam Shipyard upset No. 1 Bank of Guam Lady Strykers 1-0 to win the Jamaican Grill Women’s GFA Cup 2019 title Sunday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The 2019 tournament is the first to feature teams from both divisions of the Bud Light Women’s Soccer League.

Olivia Elliott scored the match’s lone goal in the 44th minute for the eventual final score.

Guam Shipyard was presented gold medals and the Jamaican Grill Women’s GFA Cup champion trophy during a short awards ceremony after the match and the Strykers were presented silver medals and the Women’s GFA Cup second-place trophy.

  • Golden Glove: Tamera Shimizu, The Venue Slay
  • Fair Play: The Venue Sidekicks

Also concluded on Sunday were both the Docomo Pacific Soccer Moms League and the GFA Women’s Recreational League. Top teams from each league received awards.
