Goal fest in opening week of women’s futsal

[June 28, 2021 – Harmon, Guam] The Bud Light Women’s Futsal League opened with an incredible total goal haul of 62 in four matches Sunday afternoon at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

The Bank of Guam Lady Strykers defeated defending champions Heavy Hitters/Nutrition Mission Heat 7-3 with a hat trick by Sabrina Kenney, and two each from Richelle Ragadio and Abigail San Gil. Alexandra Shimasaki scored twice for the Heat and Nadia Shimasaki also scored.

In other matches, Quality Distributors defeated Mosa’s 16-2 led by double hat tricks from Caylani Estoy and Yae Kawauchi. Hannah Tyquiengco scored twice and Madiera Abril and India Sheppard also scored for Quality. Noelle Kresge and Gina Naburn scored for Mosa’s.

Sidekick SC defeated the MetroPacific, Inc. Islanders 10-1 with four goals from Ariya Cruz and three from Steph Bordallo. Adrianna Cruz-Aguon, Serena Bordallo, and Elisha-Rose Benavente also scored in the win. Krystiana Martinez-Spindel scored the Islanders’ lone goal.

Guam Shipyard defeated the Southern Cobras 18-5 with eight goals from Colleen Naden and three from Shyann Roberto. Brianne Leon Guerrero and Hannah Cruz each scored twice in the win and teammates Klowie Benavente, Moana Taijeron, and Levina Terlaje also scored. Kini Arroyo, Cayla-Jaden Constantino, Cindy Maestrecampo and Trudencia Escalona scored for the Cobras. The Cobras’ other goal came on a Shipyard own goal.
