26 Sep DOCOMO Pacific Soccer Moms, Women’s Rec 2022 leagues conclude
[September 26, 2022 – Harmon, Guam] Players in the DOCOMO Pacific Soccer Moms League will miss the competition and social aspect of weekly league matches following the conclusion of the 2022 season Sunday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
“Oh, I’m definitely going to miss coming out here on Sundays for the Moms League,” said Irene Tedtaotao, who has played for the Dededo Disasters since 2016. “This year, we were so happy and excited to come back again and this time play a full season. Aside from playing the matches with my teammates, really what also was enjoyable for me too was just being able to get together and interact with all the other moms on the other teams as well.”
Tedtaotao scored her second goal of the season in Dededo’s final week match against the Queen Cobras Sunday evening. Though the season has ended for the year, the Dededo Disasters will still have training sessions twice a week while the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League is in season, Tedtaotao said.
In Sunday’s line up of Soccer Moms League matches, the Wings Momdeshiko took on the TuMOMs at 5 p.m., followed by a match between Guam Shipyard Femme Fatale and Calvo’s SelectCare. The DOCOMOMs took on the Metro Pacific Islanders Moms at the 7 p.m. kick off slot next, followed by the last match of the season between the Dededo Disasters and Queen Cobras. Latte Strong also played in the league this season.
Additionally, the Guam Football Association Women’s Recreational League also came to a close Sunday evening with five matches kicking off hourly beginning from 4 p.m.
Tsunami played against Tumon FC in the first match of the evening followed by the ASC Trust Kickers taking on Southern Heat. Next, the Majestics were scheduled to take on Tumon Dos at 6 p.m., followed by PFC Tune Squad against Cars Plus at 7 p.m. The final match of the evening saw Quality Distributors Momsters take on the Barrigada Crusaders.
Both seasons kicked off July 31 with weekly matches through to Sunday.
