Changes to Robbie Webber youth Fall 2025 season promote development

[August 28, 2025 – Harmon, Guam] In a collective effort by the Guam Football Association Executives and committees, as well as the GFA Technical and Football Events departments, the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League’s format in this Fall 2025 season has been adjusted to provide youth players the avenues to maximize development and playing opportunities.

Among key shifts in the league format include updated birth dates for players in revised age categories and staggered kick off dates for different age groups.

“As we continue to improve and align our developmental pathways, we are transitioning from a traditional calendar year structure to a seasonal year format for our youth competitions,” said Samuel San Gil, GFA Director of Football Events, in a letter to all GFA Member Clubs. “Throughout this transition, we have encountered certain challenges – particularly regarding age division classifications and player birth dates. To ensure consistency and fairness in competition, necessary adjustments to the division categories have been made.”

Three age categories were updated; the league now features a U11 age category in place of last season’s U10 age category, as well as a U14 age category in place of last season’s U13 age category. The other age category change is the U17 Boys Division currently in season in place of last season’s U16 category. The new age categories also help to keep players from interscholastic competitions together at the club level.

The following are the updated birth date ranges for all the age categories in the league:

  • U6: August 1, 2019 – July 31, 2021
  • U8: August 1, 2017 – July 31, 2019
  • U11: August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2017
  • U14: August 1, 2011 – July 31, 2014
  • U17: August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2011

Official kick off dates will vary per age group, with the majority of players – particularly those in the U6 to U11 co-ed age categories, as well as the U14 Astra (Girls) – will play their first league matches Sept. 20.

The U17 Boys Division kicked off Aug. 9 and the U17 Girls Division will kick off Aug. 30.

The U14 category’s Haya and Lagu co-ed divisions will kick off in October.

The staggered kick off dates also allow for the older-age category players to better manage their training and activity load while competing in concurrent interscholastic leagues.

Participating clubs have already begun training and recruitment of players for their respective rosters. To play in the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League, players must first be registered with a participating club. Once registered with a club via online platform PowerUp Sports, the club will provide instructions on registering with GFA through the same platform.

A listing of club representatives is available on GFA’s official Web site at: https://guamfa.com/member-clubs/
