Budweiser Soccer Premier Division Top 3 Stay Perfect

[October 28, 2019 – Harmon, Guam] The top three teams in the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division stay perfect with two wins in as many matches following Week 2 play at the Guam Football Association National Training Center Saturday evening.

Defending champions NAPA Rovers FC blanked Guam Shipyard 10-0 led by Michael Crowley’s four goals. Devan Mendiola contributed a hat trick in the win and teammates Min Sung Choi, Bryan Cadiz, and Ryan Quitugua each scored once.

In other matches, Bank of Guam Strykers stay on top of league standings with its second-straight shutout victory, a 10-0 contest over Quality Distributors. Marcus Lopez repeated a five-goal performance in Week 2 to lead his team in the win. Isiah Lagutang and Ian Mariano each scored twice and teammate Aidan Dickson scored the Strykers’ other goal.

The league’s other undefeated team, the Islanders FC, posted a 4-2 victory over Sidekicks SC in Week 2. Joshua Pangelinan scored twice for the winning team and teammates Joshua Bamba and Kioumars Rezaie also scored. Kristian Cruz scored both goals for the Sidekicks.

Manhoben Lalahi picked up its first win of the season with a 5-1 victory over Lots of Art Tattoo Heat. Daniel Glasscock, Kyle Halehale, Christian Kido, Micah Hennegan, and Andrew Stenson each scored for Manhoben Lalahi. Fred Alig III scored LOA Heat’s lone goal.

Lopez leads the Golden Boot race with 10 goals in two matches. In the Golden Glove race, the Strykers’ Sean Evans lead all goalkeepers with zero goals conceded in 180 minutes played.

In the Amateur Division, the Islanders FC remain on top of league standings with a 3-0 win over FC Beercelona. Todd Pangelinan, Aaron Blaz, and Aljurell Grape scored in the win.

In other matches, the Crushers FC stay undefeated after posting a 5-0 win over the Omega Warriors. Cameron Lunod scored twice in the win and teammates Tyrone Bryan, Dietrich Weathington, and Tom Medler also scored.

The Bank of Guam Strykers II defeated the Pago Bay Disasters of Sidelines 6-1 with two goals from Joseph Green and one each from Ethan San Nicolas, Carlo Cortez, Michael De Leon, and Stephen Tomasiak. Levi Adonay scored Pago Bay’s lone goal.

The GWM Bombers SC recorded the largest victory margin of the weekend with a 16-0 win over Häagen Dazs. Eugene Hayes scored five in the win and teammates Joel Gutierrez, Josue Sanchez, and Grant Severts each scored twice. Noah Scott, Adam Gower, Philip Washington, and Rogelio Argueta also contributed to their team’s goal haul with one each. The Bombers’ other goal came on a Häagen Dazs own goal.

Hayes’ five goals was enough to catapult him to the top spot in the Amateur Division’s Golden Boot race over the Islanders’ Todd Pangelinan and the Strykers II’s Joseph Green, both tied for second place with four goals each in two matches.

The Islanders’ Mason Bonner currently leads the division’s Golden Glove contest with zero goals conceded in 168 minutes played. The Strykers II’s Zachary Mafnas is in second with one goal conceded in 180 minutes played.
