Bud FA17/SP18 Season Heats Up With Week 4 Matches

[October 17, 2017 – Harmon, Guam] – After a one-week hiatus for the recently concluded 2017 Marianas Cup tournament, the Budweiser Soccer League continued with Week 4 matches at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In Sunday’s lone match, six different players scored in Bank of Guam Strykers B’s 3-3 draw with Haya United. Nathan Schneider, John Anthony Cruz, and James Lee scored for Strykers B and Haya United’s goals were scored by Adam Rivera, Scottie Angoco, and Sydney Talledo.

In Saturday evening’s matches, an 84th minute penalty kick by Pago Bay Disasters’ Francis McJohn earned his team its first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Quality Distributors. Bryan Reid scored Quality’s lone goal.

The Sidekick SC defeated the Crushers FC 5-1 with goals from Julian Ada, Trevor Santos, Anthony Aguon, Paul Atalig, and David Hwang. Justin Samonte scored the Crushers’ lone goal.

In Friday evening’s matches, Lots of Art Tattoo Heat handed FC Familia its first loss of the season, winning 3-2 in a highly physical match that saw two players ejected with red cards and five others yellow carded. Lance Chargualaf scored twice for LOA Heat, including the eventual game winner in the 89th minute, to lead all scorers. Gideon Tyquiengco nearly ran the entire length of the field with the ball and finished the play for LOA Heat’s other goal in the 82nd minute.

FC Familia’s Christopher Reyes scored the first goal of the match in the eighth minute, connecting on a corner kick from Jared Quichocho for the score. Jake Quichocho later scored for FC Familia in the 88th minute.

The University of Guam Tritons blanked the Bobcat Rovers 4-0 with two goals from Jacques Diambra-Odi and one each from Joseph Quan and Dylan Naputi.

In Wednesday evening’s lone match, the Islanders FC routed FC Beercelona 16-0 led by Aaron Blas’ four goals. Jordan Jasmin and Brandon Auayan each scored twice in the win and teammates Michael Crowley, Sora Recella, Kris Fernandez, Kyle Perez, Patson Haimin, Kennedy Macatuno, Inochi Recella, and Aaron Roque also scored.

Week 5 matches begin Wednesday with the Islanders FC taking on Eurocar FC at 7 p.m.

Friday evening’s double header will feature IDL FC against the Bombers at 7 p.m. followed by the NAPA Rovers taking on Sidekick SC.

Saturday evening’s double header will feature Bank of Guam Strykers against FC Familia at 7 p.m., followed by Lots of Art Tattoo Heat against Bobcat Rovers at 9 p.m.

Crushers FC will play against FC Beercelona at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
