ASC Trust Islanders Open U13 Elite Title Defense With Win

[August 20, 2017 – Harmon, Guam] – Defending U13 division champions ASC Trust Islanders started their 2017 Fall season bid with a 6-0 win over the Guam Shipyard Wolverines in an opening week match of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth Soccer League at the Guam Football Association National Training Center Saturday morning.

Nainoa Norton led all scorers with two second-half goals and teammates Jadyn Palomares, Noah Medler, Justin Joseph and Ethan Sablan also scored.

In the morning’s other U13 division match, Wings Red pulled off a 9-1 win over Community First/Days Inn Dededo Soccer Club. Taiyo Kanekatsu led all scorers with a hat trick. Martin Iseke scored twice and teammates Riku Meyar, Kosuke Ishii, and Raito Atsuta also scored. Wings Red’s other goal came on a Dededo own goal. Kevin Gatdula scored for Dededo.

In the U15 division, defending champions Wings wasted no time in dispatching the Tigers 16-1. Matthew Iseke led all scorers with four goals and teammates Mark Iseke, Tayler Bonner, and Eddie Cho each contributed a hat trick in the win. New transfer Robert Niu scored twice for the Wings and Morgan McKenna also scored. John Rafael Garcia scored the Tigers’ lone goal.

In the late morning match, the ASC Trust Islanders defeated the Bank of Guam Strykers 7-0. Joshua Bamba and Christian Kido scored two goals each and teammates Katsuya Martines, Kris Fernandez, and Saena San Nicolas also scored.

Both the U13 and U15 divisions continue Saturday with matches beginning at 8 a.m. The U18 division officially starts Monday with defending champions Quality Distributors taking on the Bank of Guam Strykers at 7 p.m.

The Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League officially begins Sept. 9, with an expected 150 teams in six different age divisions. Age divisions offered in the league’s 2017 Fall season range from U6 to U18. Some clubs are still accepting players for the Robbie Webber league.
