
05 Mar FD Friars win boys high school crown over Harvest
[December 19, 2015 – Harmon, Guam] The Father Duenas Memorial School Friars are the 2015 champions of the IIAAG Boys High School Soccer League with a 1-0 win over the Harvest Christian Academy Eages in the league’s championship match at the Guam Football Association National Training Center Saturday.
Senior Michael “Jake” Benito scored the eventual game winner in the contest and was named the championship match MVP during an awards ceremony held after the match. The Friars were also helped by its solid defense, led by goalkeeper Cameron Miles, keeping the previously undefeated Eagles scoreless in the match.
The St. Paul Christian Warriors finished the season in third place, beating the George Washington Geckos 2-1 in the playoff consolation match.
The All-Island First Team also was honored during an awards ceremony following the championship match.
