
03 Jan Women’s Rec Soccer Takes Center Stage on Mother’s Day
[May 11, 2016 – Harmon, Guam] – Hundreds of mothers capped an eventful Mother’s Day Sunday with fun, Week 3 matches of the Docomo Pacific GFA Soccer Moms League and Women’s Starter League in the at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
“What better way to complete our Mother’s Day celebration than to spend it with other moms on the field playing soccer together,” said Lupe Guzman of the Quality Distributors Momsters. “My family and I were busy today – we started in the morning going to the store to buy food to prepare brunch for my mom at her home, and then after, my kids and I went to Chuck E. Cheese’s for a birthday party. After, I prepared to play my soccer match.”
Guzman, who has played for Quality in the Soccer Moms League since the league started in 2013, contributed a hat trick in the Momsters’ match against Bank of Guam Team Ifit, filling in for the Warriors at the 6 p.m. time slot.
In other Soccer Moms League matches of the evening, the Lady Bombers took on Latte Strong, Tsunami Waves played against the FedEx Sirenas, Islanders played against the DocoMoms, Femme Fatale faced off against Wings Momdeshiko and the Dededo Disasters played against the Renegades.
In GFA Women’s Starter League play, Tsunami Thunder played against Cars Plus Jeep, CrushHers took on the Tsunami Sirens, Bank of Guam Team Ifit faced off against Lady Latiyas, Team FHP played against Supersonics, and Team TakeCare played against the Queen Cobras.
