Bartosh nets hat trick in Guam’s 3-0 victory over Maldives

[July 3, 2025 – Viet Tri City, Vietnam] The Masakåda, Guam Women’s National Team secured a 3-0 victory over the Maldives in Guam’s second fixture of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™ Australia 2026 Qualifiers Wednesday at the Viet Tri Stadium in Vietnam.

Rebecca Bartosh scored all three goals – her first international hat trick for Guam.

“It’s an incredible feeling, and I couldn’t have done it without my teammates,” Bartosh said.

Bartosh’s goals came in the 45th, 57th, and 75th minutes for the final result.

“We achieved our goal today,” said Kimberly Sherman, Head Coach of the Guam Women’s National Team. “Now, we focus on the next match.”

Guam will next play current group leaders and host country Vietnam at 7 p.m. local time (10 p.m. Guam time) on Saturday.

Guam will need to secure a victory over Vietnam to qualify for the tournament’s final round.

In Vietnam’s Match Day 2 fixture, the host country defeated United Arab Emirates 6-0.

Both Match Day 2 fixtures are available to watch online via the Vietnam Football Federation YouTube channel.

Only the winning teams from each group will move on to the tournament’s final round. Already in the final round are defending champion China PR, Japan, Korea Republic, and host Australia.

During this tournament, the Masakåda debuted Guam Football Association’s 50th Anniversary commemorative kit in its match against United Arab Emirates. The new shirt for 2025 is available for pre-order in GFA’s online shop: https://gufanshop.myshopify.com

Limited quantities will be available. The new commemorative kits will be worn by Guam’s national teams only in 2025 for selected tournaments.
