
28 Feb NAPA Rovers FC dominates men’s futsal, sweep 2025 league awards
[February 27, 2025 – Mangilao, Guam] NAPA Rovers FC completed a sweep of the 2025 Guam Football Association Men’s Futsal League awards, finishing with the Champions Trophy, Golden Boot, and Golden Glove awards Wednesday evening at the University of Guam Fieldhouse.
The Rovers finished with a league best 17-1 record for the Champions trophy and dominated on both ends of the court with the league best 259 goals scored and only 58 goals allowed. The Rovers lone loss of the season came in Week 11, an 8-4 loss to Wings FC.
Wings FC finished second in the league with a 15-3 record and Sidekick SC claimed third place with an 11-6-1 record ahead of No. 4 Quality Distributors with a 10-7-1 record.
The Rovers’ Justin Cruz scored 79 of his team’s total goals for the 2025 Golden Boot award, seven goals ahead of No. 2 Jude Bischoff from Guam Shipyard. Cruz holds the league record in goals scored in a single match with 22 from Week 18 against Crushers FC.
The Rovers’ Julius Campos earned the league’s 2025 Golden Glove award, allowing 58 goals in 850 minutes played. Campos also finished with two clean sheets during the season.
In final league matches played Wednesday, the Rovers defeated Quality Distributors FC 13-4 led by Cruz’s double hat trick. Mark Chargualaf finished with a hat trick for the winning team, Shaun-Paul Martinez scored twice, and Michael Castaneda added one to the Rovers’ goal haul. The Rovers’ other goal came on a Quality Distributors own goal. Tanner Federico, Isaac Koech, Takayuki Kobayashi and Ross Awa each scored once for Quality.
In other matches, No. 2 Wings FC defeated Tumon FC UOG 7-4. Caleb Sablan scored twice for the winning team and teammates Jehren Banuchi, Joseph Alvarado, Yaw Boateng, Luke Johnson, and Edler De Castro also scored. Giorden DeVera and Andrew Stenson each scored two goals for Tumon FC UOG.
Trevin Rioja, Seth Surber, Magahet Finona, and Blaise Alig each scored twice in Southern Cobras SC’s 9-2 win over Crushers. Keean Fejeran scored the Cobras’ other goal in the win. Kai Suzuki and Benjamin Thompson scored for Crushers FC.
Sidekick SC defeated Guam Shipyard 6-3 led by Joshua Bamba’s hat trick. Derrick Cruz scored twice for the winning team and Napu Mesa also scored. Jude Bischoff scored twice for Guam Shipyard and teammate James Kochanski also scored.
The awards presentation was held at the conclusion of the all matches, with awards presented by GFA Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the GFA Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee Fred Alig II.
