19 Nov 30 Goals Scored in Week 5 of 2017/8 Budweiser Soccer
[October 23, 2017 – Harmon, Guam] – An average of six goals per match were scored in Week 5 of the Budweiser Soccer League’s top division at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
The Bank of Guam Strykers I shut out FC Familia 7-0 in their first match of the 2017-2018 season Saturday evening with four goals from Scott Spindel and two from league debutant Mark Iseke. Takumi Odell scored the Strykers I’s other goal.
Defending champions NAPA Rovers produced the week’s other shut out victory, a 4-0 contest Friday evening against the Sidekicks. Matt Robles finished with a hat trick and last season’s Golden Boot winner, Min Sung Choi, scored the Rovers’ other goal.
In Sunday evening’s lone match, FC Beercelona picked up its first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over the Crushers FC. Frank Shimizu led all scorers with four goals for Beercelona and Sho Hammond also scored in the win. Justin Samonte and Oscar Ramirez scored for the Crushers FC.
IDL FC stay undefeated with a 3-1 win over the Bombers SC Friday evening, with all goals coming in the first half of play. Ashton Surber scored twice in the win and teammate Duran Pipes scored IDL FC’s other goal. Joel Gutierrez scored the Bombers’ lone goal on a penalty kick in the 39th minute.
Lots of Art Tattoo Heat defeated the Bobcat Rovers 7-1 Saturday evening with two goals each from Lance Chargualaf and Austin Rioja. Riley Jones Taijeron, Devin Quinata, and Jan Flores scored the LOA Heat’s other goals. Kyler Duenas scored the Bobcat Rovers’ lone goal.

Budweiser Soccer League action continues Wednesday evening with the Islanders FC taking on Haya United at 7 p.m. Friday evening’s double header will feature IDL FC against the Sidekicks at 7 p.m. followed by Quality Distributors against Bank of Guam Strykers B at 9 p.m.
Eurocar FC will take on the Bombers SC at 7 p.m. on Saturday followed by the Crushers FC playing against FC Familia at 9 p.m.
University of Guam Tritons play against Pago Bay Disasters in the lone match Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
