2025-2026 Bud Light G League Women season to open Nov. 8

[November 6, 2025 – Harmon, Guam] Guam Shipyard I will take on Haagen Dazs Islanders FC in the opening match of the 2025-2026 Bud Light G League Women, set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

“We’re excited to celebrate the start of another competitive and inspiring season for women’s football,” said Walter Benavente, Bud Light G League Women coordinator. “The opening day will not only showcase our athletes but also highlight the importance of community engagement and wellness through our partnerships with local NGOs.”

As part of the GFA’s ongoing effort to celebrate women’s football and strengthen grassroots participation, the opening match teams will participate in a special march-in ceremony with members of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League. The opening day will feature exciting fan engagement activities, including free popcorn, a free photo booth, and community outreach displays by local organizations. Participating NGOs include Victim Advocates Reaching Out (VARO), TakeCare Insurance, and the Bureau of Women’s Affairs, all of whom will host interactive booths to promote community well-being, empowerment, and support for women in sport.

The Guam Shipyard II and Wings FC season opener will complete Saturday’s double header. Opening matches for other teams will continue Sunday featuring the U16 Women’s National Development Team against Quality Distributors FC at 12 noon followed by defending champions Bank of Guam Strykers FC against Heavy Hitters Southern Heat at 2 p.m. The day’s triple header will conclude with Sidekick SC playing against NAPA Rovers FC.
