02 Dec ’18 Spring Semifinals Set for Women’s Top Soccer Division
[March 15, 2018 – Harmon, Guam] Bud Light Women’s Soccer League Premier Division (W1) semifinal fixtures are set for Sunday, beginning with No. 2 Guam Shipyard taking on No. 3 Quality Distributors at 5 p.m. at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Both teams cruised to the semifinals with convincing victories in quarterfinal matches.
Quality Distributors defeated Heavy Hitters/Nutrition Mission Heat 3-1 with a pair of goals from Zoe Surber and one from Randi Jo Paulino. Mia San Nicolas scored the Heat’s lone goal.
Guam Shipyard upended the ASC Trust Islanders 13-1 with four goals from the league’s Golden Boot winner Brianne Leon Guerrero and a hat trick by Shyann Roberto.
Regina Shiroma, Olivia Elliott, Taylor Crisostomo, Minami Rabago, and Arisa Recella also contributed one goal each to the haul. Guam Shipyard’s other goal came on an Islanders own goal. Taryn Rupley scored for the Islanders, preventing a Shipyard clean sheet.
The late semifinal match will pit No. 5 NAPA Lady Rovers against No. 1 Lady Crushers at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The Lady Rovers edged No. 4 Bank of Guam Lady Strykers 2-1 for a ticket to the semifinals against the league’s top team. Sara Gobets and Courtney Salgado scored for the Lady Rovers and Christina Duenas scored for the Lady Strykers.
