11 Sep 150 teams featured in Fall 2023 season of Triple J youth soccer
[September 10, 2023 – Harmon, Guam] A total of 150 teams across five age divisions registered to officially kick off the Fall 2023 season of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League amid rainy weather Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
“It was a rainy opening day, but it was great to see all the young athletes come out and play in the youth league accompanied by their parents and other supporters watching the matches,” said Samuel San Gil, Head of Football Events. “This is the most number of teams we’ve seen in years – it’s exciting to see the increasing popularity of the sport.”
The U8 age division features the most teams in the league with 44, followed by the U6 age division with 37. The U10 age division is next with 36 teams. A total of 18 teams make up the U12 age division, while nine teams play in the U15 Boys division and six in the U15 Girls division.
While the majority of club team rosters are full, some still have space availability. A listing of clubs and their respective representatives are online at https://guamfa.com/gfa-programs/all-leagues/youth/fall/registration-form/
The league runs through to Nov. 18 with a break mid-October as the GFA National Training Center will be the venue for a FIFA World Cup 2026™ and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Joint Preliminary Qualification Round 1 match.
The Matao, Guam Men’s National Team, was drawn to play against Singapore in a home-and-away format in Round 1.
