Magahaga beat Metgot in HS Girls All-Star showdown

[May 26, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] Team Magahaga defeated Team Metgot in the first-ever IIAAG Girls High School Soccer League All-Stars invitational - 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout Wednesday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The score ended in a 1-1 deadlock by the end of regulation time. Jenna Han's strike from a left-side cross by Jestyne Sablan gave Team Magahaga the lead early in the second half.

Team Metgot's Skyylerblu Johnson leveled the match late in the second half on a penalty kick, earned after her teammate Jalana Garcia was taken down in the box by Team Magahaga defender Aubrey Esteves.


Dolphins, Royals back in IIAAG Girls HS League finals

[May 19, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] "Who wants it more?" is the theme for the 2016 finals of the IIAAG Girls High School Soccer League, featuring familiar finalists, the Southern High School Dolphins and the Notre Dame Royals following semifinal matches played at the Guam Football Association National Training Center Wednesday.

The Royals were first to the championship match with a 5-1 win over Okkodo High School in the early semifinal match. Destiny Castro scored twice in the win and teammates Elysia Perez, Randi Jo Paulino and Hannah Cruz also scored. Richelle Ragadio scored Okkodo's lone goal.

Both teams fought to a 1-1 draw at halftime, but the Royals scored four unanswered goals in the deciding half to top Okkodo.


Geckos win girls high school preseason tournament

[March 19, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The George Washington High School Geckos hoisted the championship trophy of the 5th Annual Girls High School "Challenge Cup" Preseason Tournament held Saturday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Geckos were awarded individual medals and the championship trophy after defeating the Academy of Our Lady of Guam Cougars in the final. Also recognized was championship match MVP Skyylerblu Johnson from GW.


Lady Obispos successfully defend Sugar N Spice title

[March 7, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School Obispos were unstoppable in their championship title defense of the Guam Football Association Girls Middle School “Sugar N Spice” Soccer Festival, outscoring opponents by eight goals in three matches en route to its second-straight title Saturday.  

The Obispos stamped its authority early in the 9th Annual festival, defeating the F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School Hawks in their tournament opener and after, the CDR William C. McCool Elementary/Middle School Seahawks in the semifinals. The Obispos later hoisted the championship trophy and showcased individual medals after defeating 2013 champions Agueda I. Johnston Middle School Pirates 2-0 in the tournament final. The tournament title adds to the winning team’s third-consecutive IIAAG Middle School Girls Soccer League title, earned last month.


FD Friars win boys high school crown over Harvest

[December 19, 2015 - Harmon, Guam] The Father Duenas Memorial School Friars are the 2015 champions of the IIAAG Boys High School Soccer League with a 1-0 win over the Harvest Christian Academy Eages in the league's championship match at the Guam Football Association National Training Center Saturday.

Senior Michael "Jake" Benito scored the eventual game winner in the contest and was named the championship match MVP during an awards ceremony held after the match. The Friars were also helped by its solid defense, led by goalkeeper Cameron Miles, keeping the previously undefeated Eagles scoreless in the match.

The St. Paul Christian Warriors finished the season in third place, beating the George Washington Geckos 2-1 in the playoff consolation match.
