GUAM FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

Chairpersons named to GFA Committees following election

[March 27, 2019 - Harmon, Guam] Guam Football Association Executives and Executive Committee members convened for their first official meeting of the year Tuesday evening following the recent election held last month at Hotel Nikko Guam.

“With the consistent progress made in Guam football over the years, I look forward to working with the current Executives in continuing development in all aspects of the sport for Guam’s success domestically and on the international stage,” said Tino San Gil, GFA President. “GFA is steadily growing and it is important that we all work together to achieve our goals and objectives set out in our Strategic Plan to benefit all of the organization’s stakeholders.”

In last month’s election, Roberto, who has been involved with the Guam Shipyard Wolverines organization since the early 2000s, earned the highest number of votes – 11 out of a possible 12.

“I decided to run in this year’s election primarily because of the encouragement and confidence provided by others onto me – I pray to Jesus Christ for strength and guidance in all we do and decide on for the organization,” Roberto said after the election. “As a new member of the Executive Committee, I aim to work toward making a positive impact to an already existing and awesome organization. Our past and current leadership deserves tremendous kudos, as it’s their vision that has brought us to where we’re at today, and at the same time, the current group of professionals who work at the GFA daily deserve our support as elected persons. I’ll continue to pray that the added ideas brought forth will benefit the entire island community.”

Iseke and incumbent Tenorio received the second-highest number of votes – nine – and Alig and incumbent Esteves each received eight votes to round out the top five vote-getters for the five seats available on GFA’s Executive Committee.
