Wings defeat Wolverines for Spring 2016 U10 title

[May 11, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Wings Red capped its undefeated season of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League with a championship title following its final match victory over the Guam Shipyard Wolverines May 8 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Wolverines came into the U10 division playoffs in the No. 2 position and defeated the No. 3 ASC Trust Islanders Betde in the morning of May 8 for a ticket to the finals, scheduled a few hours later in the afternoon. Wings Red defeated No. 4 Southern Cobras for its finals berth.

In the consolation match, the Southern Cobras topped the Islanders Betde.

Strykers snap Wings four-season U17 division reign

[May 1, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The W.M. Engineering Strykers become only the second team in two years to win the U17 division of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League, after Wings Red held strongly to the division title spanning four seasons.

The Strykers, entering the U17 division playoffs ranked No. 1, extended its undefeated streak with a close 1-0 win over Wings Red in the championship match Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Preston Boynton was credited with the match's lone goal.

Tigers defeat Wings to claim Spring 2016 U14 title

[May 1, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Tigers won against the Wings in the battle of undefeated teams in the championship match of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League U14 division Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In the championship match, Raf Garcia scored twice in the win and Micah Hennegan scored the Tigers' other goal. The Tigers entered the playoffs ranked No. 2 under the Wings. In the regular season, both teams battled to a 1-1 draw.

During the awards ceremony, each player and coach also received a Triple J Fair Play drawstring bag as an additional prize.

Spider-Man to deliver anti-bullying message at Jamboree, schools

[April 18, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] Through a partnership with Marvel Comics, Spider-Man will be headlining the Guam Football Association Jamboree, the season-ending event of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League on Saturday at the GFA National Training Center.

“We are excited to be bringing in Spider-Man as a special guest at this season’s Jamboree, which will coincide with the official celebration of GFA’s 40th Anniversary,” said GFA Vice President Joseph Cepeda. “In addition to his appearance at the Jamboree, we’ve invited Spider-Man to Guam to deliver a strong anti-bullying message to our island’s youth in a week-long visit that also includes two public appearances and presentations at 12 of Guam’s elementary schools.

Youth league helps national players gain match experience

[March 14, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] Recently selected as a midfielder for Guam’s U14 Boys national team, the Wings FC’s Taiga Simon hopes to gain as much match experience in the position as he can during Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League matches.

Both the Guam U14 and U17 Boys national teams will be departing next week to Hong Kong for the Jockey Club International Youth Invitational Tournament.

“Our coaches told us that the teams we will be going up against in Hong Kong will most likely play more possession football with a lot of accurate passing,” said Simon, a 12-year-old student at St. John’s School. “The upcoming international matches will be a great challenge for us, and as one of the team’s midfielders, I am using youth league matches as additional training to help me get better touches on the ball and to develop better field vision. The midfield position is a lot of ball distribution – passing to teammates to set up plays, connecting the defense to our attackers.
