League champions determined for U10 to U17 divisions

[November 22, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The EFR Southern Cobras Black and ASC Trust Islanders Betde were crowned champions of the U17 and U14 divisions, respectively, of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League in Week 10 matches played at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In the U17 championship match, Cobras Black defeated Tumon Typhoons SC Pongsona 4-1 with a pair of goals from Austin Rioja and one each from Trey Layson and Seth Surber. Arvin Ramachandran scored Tumon’s lone goal in the contest.

In the U14 championship match, the Islanders Betde blanked the Bank of Guam Strykers 9-0 with two goals each from Jonathan Sevilla, Edward Reyes, and Juan Sarmiento. Russell Anicas, Saena San Nicolas, and Josiah Duenas also scored for Islanders Betde.

Wings U14 win PK shootout vs Tigers for championship

[November 12, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Wings FC's U14 team edged the Tigers 5-4 in a penalty kick shootout after the teams were deadlocked at 1-all in regulation time of the championship match of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League U14 division final played Nov. 5 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In regulation time, the Wings' Matthew Iseke and Tigers' Kainoa Ferguson scored their respective teams' goals to force the penalty kick shootout.

Following the championship match, the Wings accepted the championship trophy and gold medals, while the Tigers settled for a silver-medal finish.

Wings U12 cap undefeated season with elite championship

[November 12, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Wings' U12 team capped its undefeated season with the first-ever U12 championship title of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League following the team's 3-1 win over the ASC Trust Islanders on Nov. 5 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Championship match MVP and the division's Golden Boot winner Nainoa Norton of the Wings led all scorers with a pair of goals and teammate Andrew Choi also scored. Ethan "E.J." Sablan scored the Islanders' lone goal of the contest.

Following the championship match, Norton was awarded with trophies for Golden Boot and championship match MVP.

Finals set for U12, U14 divisions of Minetgot Cup

[November 1, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The No. 1-ranked Wings FC survived a scare from No. 4 Guam Shipyard Wolverines to advance to the U14 championship match of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League, set for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Wings managed to slip past the Wolverines 4-3 in a penalty shootout following a 1-all deadlock in regulation time.

With both teams tied at 1-1 after the first four kickers, Golden Glove winner Marcus Del Rosario cemented the Wings’ advantage for the remainder of the shootout with a huge stop on a shot by the Wolverines’ third kicker Shaun-Paul Martinez. From there, the rest of the teams’ kickers finished their shots for the final 4-3 score.

Bank of Guam Strykers win first-ever Minetgot Cup U17 title

[Harmon, Guam - October 13, 2016] The Bank of Guam Strykers won the first-ever U17 division title of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League following its 3-0 win over Wings Red in the new league's championship match played Oct. 11 at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Joshua Calvo scored twice and Clayton Mitchell once in the championship match.

In the awards ceremony following the championship match, Calvo was recognized as the championship match MVP, Mitchell received the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals in regular season matches, and Sablan earned the Golden Glove award as top goalkeeper. Wings Black was recognized as Fair Play award winners.
