Playoff bracket set for 2017 Bud Light Women's Futsal

[July 17, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The Bud Light Women’s Futsal League playoff bracket is set following the conclusion of Week 7 matches played Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

Quality Distributors snuck into the No. 2 position with an 18-0 win over FC Familia, finishing the regular season with a superior goal difference over the Bank of Guam Lady Strykers and Hyundai. With Sunday’s goal haul, Quality’s goal difference amounted to +24, ahead of the Lady Strykers with +19 and Hyundai with +4. All three teams finished with identical 4-2 records.

In the Quality-FC Familia fixture, Alisia Barcinas and Paige Surber each scored four goals and teammate Tamica Hechanova finished with a hat trick. Inina Yatar and Jalana Garcia scored twice each and Franshay Shippey and Jodie Nelson also scored. Quality’s other goal came on an FC Familia own goal.

Lady Crushers secure top spot in futsal playoffs early

[July 11, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers secured the No. 1 spot for playoffs Sunday following its 6-2 win over the Bank of Guam Lady Strykers with one week left to go in the Bud Light Women’s Futsal League regular season at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

The Lady Crushers (5-0) will play their final regular season match at 2 p.m. Jul. 16 against the University of Guam Tritons (2-3) before resting through two weeks, including a bye week in the first round of playoffs.

In the Lady Crushers’ Week 6 match, Anjelica Perez and Simie Willter led all scorers with two goals each and teammates Demie Rose Brennan and Colleen Naden also scored. Sheena Borja, who had the Lady Strykers’ game-winning strike in Week 5 play against Hyundai, scored once and teammate Francesca Pangelinan also scored.

PFC Lady Crushers top 2017 futsal standings after Week 2

[June 13, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Defending champions Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers remain undefeated in the 2017 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League with a 10-5 win over Quality Distributors in a Week 2 match at the Guam Sports Complex Gym Sunday.

The Lady Crushers asserted its goal-scoring prowess early, averaging a goal every two minutes for the 5-1 lead early in the first half. Later, Quality’s Paige Surber and Jalana Garcia made their presence known almost immediately as they stepped onto the court midway through the half with two back-to-back goals each to level the match at 5-all, but the team would be shut down for the remainder of the contest.

Colleen Naden led all scorers with a double hat trick in the win and teammate Skyylerblu Johnson scored three goals. Kaeliana Taitano scored the Lady Crushers’ other goal. Hannah Tyquiengco scored Quality’s other goal.

PFC Lady Crushers stop Hyundai for women's futsal title

[August 15, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers successfully defended their Bud Light Women’s Futsal League title Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training futsal courts.

The Lady Crushers, ranked No. 2 in playoffs, avenged their lone regular-season loss to Hyundai with a 2-1 victory over the previously undefeated team in the league’s championship match, played through rainy and windy conditions.

The winning team needed just about the entire first half to score with a shot by co-Golden Boot winner Anjelica Perez, as Hyundai put the pressure on its opponent early with a fourth-minute goal by Olivia Flores.

No. 1 Hyundai to take on No. 2 Lady Crushers in futsal final

[August 11, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] No. 1 Hyundai will take No. 2 Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers in the championship match of the 2016 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center futsal courts.

Hyundai cruised to a 3-0 lead early in the first 10 minutes of play against Quality, but in the closing minutes of regulation time, the league’s lone undefeated team was fighting to stay in the match and eventually edged Quality 8-6 in extra time.

Hyundai blew a 4-2 halftime lead, as Quality scored a pair of goals 10 minutes into the second half to level the match at 4-all. A goal from Hyundai’s Honoka Recella in the 34th minute gave the lead back to the league leaders, but Quality managed to level the match again with a shot by Jodie Barnhouse.
