Guam Shipyard captures 2018 women's futsal crown

[August 28, 2018 - Harmon, Guam] Guam Shipyard outscored Quality Distributors 3-1 in the second half to capture the 2018 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League championship title with a 4-2 win Sunday afternoon at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

Guam Shipyard’s Olivia Elliott scored twice in the second half, including netting the eventual game winner with just about nine minutes left on the clock. Quality Distributors’ Jalana Garcia reduced her team’s deficit to just one goal three minutes later, but a goal by Guam Shipyard Arisa Recella with a little over a minute left to play sealed her team’s win.

Shyann Roberto scored Guam Shipyard’s lone goal in the first half and Alisia Barcinas scored Quality’s first-half goal.

Quality to take on Shipyard for 2018 women's futsal title

[August 21, 2018 - Harmon, Guam] A new champion will be crowned Sunday in the Bud Light Women’s Futsal League following the 2018 title match at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

In the weekend’s semifinal matches, Quality Distributors edged 2017 champions, Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers 5-4 to secure the team’s berth in the 2018 championship match.

Hannah Tyquiengco scored the eventual game winner with a little over five minutes left on the clock. Teammate Jalana Garcia led all scorers with a hat trick in the win and Hopemary Calip scored Quality’s other goal.

Colleen Naden and Caylani Estoy each scored twice for the Lady Crushers.

Defending champs Lady Crushers drop 2018 futsal opener

[June 26, 2018 - Harmon, Guam] The Bank of Guam Lady Strykers opened its 2018 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League season with a 7-3 win over defending champions Lady Crushers Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex gym in Harmon.

Alexy Dacanay led the Lady Strykers’ attack with a hat trick and teammates Jinae Teria, Ariya Cruz, Abigail San Gil, and Hannah Cruz scored one each in the win. Kaeliana Taitano, Colleen Naden and Kimberly Sherman scored for the Lady Crushers.

In other matches Sunday, last season’s runner-up Quality Distributors started off on the right foot with a 9-3 victory over Heavy Hitters/Nutrition Mission Heat.

Lady Crushers successfully defend women's futsal title

[August 13, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers capped an undefeated regular season showing in the Bud Light Women’s Futsal League with the 2017 championship title Sunday, winning against Quality Distributors 9-2 at the Guam Sports Complex gym.

A defensive lapse by Quality Distributors in final three minutes of the first half proved to be the game changer, as a barrage of goals by the Lady Crushers catapulted the team to a commanding 6-1 lead at the half.

Despite turning up the aggression on offense, Quality never recovered from the halftime deficit and was outscored by the winning team 3-1 in the second half for the final score.

Lady Crushers, Quality to play for 2017 women's futsal title

[August 7, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The Personal Finance Center Lady Crushers and Quality Distributors will play for the 2017 Bud Light Women’s Futsal League championship title Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex gym in Harmon.

The No. 1 Lady Crushers had a rough start after coming back from a three-week break, riding a meager 3-2 halftime lead against Hyundai to stay afloat in the first of two semifinal matches played Aug. 6. The defending champions’ second wind kicked in with just 10 minutes left on the clock, with a trio of goals from Skyylerblu Johnson, Colleen Naden, and Anjelica Perez for the final 9-5 score.

Naden led all scorers with a hat trick. Johnson and Perez finished with two each in the win and teammate April Talledo also scored. The Lady Crushers’ other goal came on a Hyundai own goal. Tiana Piper, Levina Terlaje, Honoka Recella, Arisa Recella, and Erlissa Delfin each scored one each for Hyundai.
