Six top division men's teams stay perfect through Week 6

[October 30, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Six out of 17 teams remain undefeated through Week 6 of the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division played at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The University of Guam Tritons allowed their first two goals of the season against Pago Bay Disasters, but remain undefeated with an 8-2 win Sunday. Dylan Naputi led all scorers with four goals and teammates Kyle Legozzie, Jacques Diambra-Odi, Noah Duenas, and Todd Pangelinan also scored in the win. Paul Estaquio and Ryan Palomo scored one each for Pago Bay.

In other matches, the undefeated Islanders FC lead the league in goals scored with 22 in two matches and zero goals allowed so far following the team’s 6-0 win over Haya United Wednesday evening. Aaron Blaz, Kris Fernandez, Brandon Auayan, Jordan Jasmin, Kyle Perez, and Michael Crowley each scored once in the shutout win.


30 goals scored in Week 5 of 2017/8 Budweiser Soccer 

[October 23, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] An average of six goals per match were scored in Week 5 of the Budweiser Soccer League’s top division at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Bank of Guam Strykers I shut out FC Familia 7-0 in their first match of the 2017-2018 season Saturday evening with four goals from Scott Spindel and two from league debutant Mark Iseke. Takumi Odell scored the Strykers I’s other goal.

Defending champions NAPA Rovers produced the week’s other shut out victory, a 4-0 contest Friday evening against the Sidekicks. Matt Robles finished with a hat trick and last season’s Golden Boot winner, Min Sung Choi, scored the Rovers’ other goal.


Bud FA17/SP18 season heats up with Week 4 matches

[October 17, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] After a one-week hiatus for the recently concluded 2017 Marianas Cup tournament, the Budweiser Soccer League continued with Week 4 matches at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

In Sunday’s lone match, six different players scored in Bank of Guam Strykers B’s 3-3 draw with Haya United. Nathan Schneider, John Anthony Cruz, and James Lee scored for Strykers B and Haya United’s goals were scored by Adam Rivera, Scottie Angoco, and Sydney Talledo.

In Saturday evening’s matches, an 84th minute penalty kick by Pago Bay Disasters’ Francis McJohn earned his team its first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Quality Distributors. Bryan Reid scored Quality’s lone goal.


BOG B, IDL FC pick up wins in Week 3 of men's soccer

[September 30, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] An early Eurocar FC goal wasn’t enough to stop IDL FC from picking up a win in Week 3 of the Budweiser Soccer League Friday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

IDL FC, made up mostly of players from last season’s Premier Division champions NAPA Rovers FC, pounded in eight goals – five from Marcus Lopez – after a 6th minute goal from Eurocar’s Fook Liao to win 8-1 in the team’s first match of the 2017-2018 season. Jonahan Romero scored twice for IDL FC and Ian Mariano scored the team’s other goal.

Eurocar entered the match with a 2-0 record from the first two weeks of play and a +10 goal differential. With the lopsided loss, Eurocar slips down to the No. 3 position in league standings behind Familia FC.


BOG Strykers weaken NAPA Rovers bid for four-peat

[March 27, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Bank of Guam Strykers weakened NAPA Rovers FC’s bid for a four-peat in the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division with a 6-2 win Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center in the latest division standings released by the GFA Men’s Committee.

The Rovers (10-3) came into the match at the No. 2 position in league standings and needed a win to regain the frontrunner position over Guam Shipyard (11-2) based on head-to-head competition, with just three weeks left to play.

The Strykers had different plans for the three-time defending champions, powering to a 3-0 lead at halftime and continuing with high intensity to close out the match. Sixteen-year-old Clayton Mitchell led all scorers with a hat trick and teammates Scott Spindel, Aidan Dickson, and Alan Thomas also scored. Ashton Surber and Jan Flores scored for the Rovers.
