Rovers Masters regain Bud Light Co-Ed League title
[August 27, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] Rovers Masters regained the Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League title finishing with the best overall record at 9-1 despite dropping its final week match of league play Friday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Last year’s champions, United Masters, managed to spoil a perfect season by the Rovers Masters, edging the 2016 champions 3-2 with a pair of goals by Takefumi Inoue and the eventual game-winner from Koharu Minato. Peter Houk and Julio Gonzales scored one goal each for Rovers Masters.
Inoue was in the running for the league’s Golden Boot award, but needed at least one more goal in Friday’s match to tie Rovers Masters’ Michael Tate with 20 goals for the season.
Rovers, Strykers win in Masters Co-Ed League openers
[June 14, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] The Rovers Masters and Strykers Masters picked up wins in opening week action of the 2016 Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
The Rovers Masters, four-time winners of the league before bowing to United Masters last year, started the 2016 season strongly with a 12-0 win over Big Blue Masters Tuesday. The Rovers’ Michael Tate scored five and teammates Peter Houk and Ian Lawton each scored twice in the win. Atsushi Yamamuro, Manoucher Sabeti, and Courtney Salgado scored the Rovers’ other goals.
United Masters eclipse Rovers for Bud Light Co-Ed 2015 title
[September 14, 2015 - Harmon, Guam] The United Masters became only the second team to win the Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League championship title since the league’s inception in 2011 after eclipsing four-time champion Rovers Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Both the United Masters and the Rovers finished the season with identical 6-1-1 records following the teams’ Sept. 12 matches; however, the United Masters claimed the top spot through the league’s head-to-head competition tiebreaker.
Strykers, Rovers win in 2015 co-ed masters openers
[June 28, 2015 - Harmon, Guam] The Strykers and Rovers picked up wins in opening week matches of the 2015 Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
The Strykers, starting with five female players, defeated IT&E 9-1 with a hat trick each from Kimberly Sherman and Matthew Elwell, two from Rod Hidalgo and one from Susumu Morimoto. Luis Larrazabal scored IT&E’s lone goal in the 26th minute.
Rovers win fourth-straight Co-Ed Masters title
The Rovers made it four straight Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League titles following the team's 7-1 win over the Paintco Strykers in the championship match Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
Since the league started, no other team has been able to wrest the Co-Ed Masters trophy from the Rovers. League Golden Boot winner Takefumi Inoue led the Rovers with four goals in the championship match. Ian Lawton scored twice and Cheri Stewart scored the Rovers' other goal. Susumu Morimoto scored the Strykers' lone goal off a PK in the 6th minute.
In the earlier consolation match, Big Blue blanked a shorthanded IT&E/IP&E team 11-0. Noel Casilao, Roy Abril, and Rhoda Bamba each scored twice in the win. Yvonne San Nicolas, Josiegen Soquena, Michael Crisostomo, Pepito Bedia, Jr. and Sara Pleadwell scored Big Blue's other goals.
