NAPA Rovers take 2017 Red Dragon Masters Co-Ed title

[August 12, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] NAPA Rovers Masters completed the team’s sweep of all top awards of the 2017 Red Dragon Sports Co-Ed Masters League after routing United Masters 5-1 in the league’s championship match Friday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Jeremy Hare led all scorers with a hat trick and teammates Courtney Salgado and Simie Willter scored one each for the winning team. United Masters’ Takefumi Inoue prevented a Rovers Masters clean sheet with his team’s lone goal in the 79th minute.

The championship title is the Rovers Masters’ sixth in the league’s seven-year history and adds to the league’s individual awards earned by Rovers Masters players.


Rovers Masters, United Masters to play for 2017 co-ed title

[August 5, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] No. 3 United Masters avenged a regular-season loss to No. 2 Big Blue Masters for the chance to take on defending champions NAPA Rovers Masters in the final of the 2017 Red Dragon Sports Co-Ed Masters Soccer League.

Both teams, the only two to ever hoist the Co-Ed Masters Soccer League championship trophy in the league’s seven-year history, will play for the 2017 title Friday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center beginning 9 p.m.

In the late semifinal match, United Masters played down their opponents early, amassing a 4-0 advantage by the halftime whistle with two goals from Naoki Takahashi and one each from Takefumi Inoue and Chin Ho Yun. Teammate Duc Khong added another goal two minutes into the second half connecting on a Kevin Knaeble assist to extend the team’s lead to 5-0.


Playoff spots secured for Red Dragon Co-Ed Masters

[July 29, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Defending champions NAPA Rovers Masters swept all individual awards of the 2017 Red Dragon Sports Co-Ed Masters Soccer League and will look to cap its undefeated season with a championship title when league playoffs begin Friday.

Rovers Masters’ Ian Lawton scored twice in his team’s 6-1 win over Hyundai Family FC in the teams’ final fixture of the season Jul. 28 to take the league’s Golden Boot Award with 11 total goals for the season. Lawton finished ahead of Hyundai’s Se Lim and Big Blue Masters James Campbell, who both finished with nine goals scored in the regular season.

Rovers Masters’ David Drews earned the league’s Golden Glove award as top goalkeeper with the least goals allowed in the most minutes played.


Co-Ed Masters Soccer opening week features 17 goals

[June 18, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Winning teams in opening week of the 2017 Red Dragon Sports Co-Ed Masters Soccer League combined for 16 of 17 goals scored in three matches at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Big Blue Masters take the early top spot in the league’s leaderboard following the team’s 7-0 win over the IT&E Boonie Dawgs in Friday evening’s late match. Sarah Graham led all scorers with a pair of goals and teammates Pepito Bedia, Jr., Andrew Miller, Tom Schils, Matthew Ho, and James Campbell also scored.

In Friday evening’s first match, Hyundai Family FC’s Ashley Besagar recorded the 2017 league’s first goal by a female player and the eventual game winner against Gino’s FC, finishing a cross from teammate Nari Saeki in the 20th minute. T


Rovers Masters regain Bud Light Co-Ed League title

[August 27, 2016 - Harmon, Guam] Rovers Masters regained the Bud Light Co-Ed Masters Soccer League title finishing with the best overall record at 9-1 despite dropping its final week match of league play Friday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Last year’s champions, United Masters, managed to spoil a perfect season by the Rovers Masters, edging the 2016 champions 3-2 with a pair of goals by Takefumi Inoue and the eventual game-winner from Koharu Minato. Peter Houk and Julio Gonzales scored one goal each for Rovers Masters.

Inoue was in the running for the league’s Golden Boot award, but needed at least one more goal in Friday’s match to tie Rovers Masters’ Michael Tate with 20 goals for the season.
